Long Island Cares pantry visits continue to increase.
This year has been one of the most challenging in Long Island Cares’ history — and your support means more than ever.
Founded by Harry Chapin in 1980, Long Island Cares was built on one simple belief: no one in our community should go hungry. Today, more than 313,800 neighbors, including 71,500 children, face food insecurity every day.
Cuts to government programs, declining donations, and rising need have created a perfect storm. Visits to our pantries are up over 30%, and families who once had stability are now turning to us in crisis.
Yet Long Island Cares continues to show up — distributing more than 13 million pounds of food each year to ensure our community has the nourishment and support it needs.
Your gift today helps Long Island families weather this difficult season.
Together, we can bring hope to every table.
